Iacovos Photiades

I was born in Nicosia, in 1953 and my parents are Takis Photiades and Chloe Photiades, genus Christodoulos Platanis.

In 1971 I graduated from the Pancyprian Gymnasium, classic department.

From 1971 until 1973 I served in the National Guard, in the commando forces, and become an officer, 2nd lieutenant.

From 1973 until 1978 I was study at Kingston University, in London, Economics and Statistics.

Upon completion of my studies I returned to Cyprus where I worked in the family businesses of my father.

In 1981 I created my own business under the name Iakovos Photiades Foodstuff Suppliers Ltd, based in Nicosia, which deals with import and distribuiton of foodstuff products for the retail, wholesale and catering establishments throughout Cyprus.

I am married to Paola Kitromilides and I have 3 children, Margarita, Chloe and Christos, who studied in the U.K., law, accounting and business administration respectively.
