The Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Mr Marinos Mousiouttas, met with the Board of Directors of the NCCI during its plenary meeting held on July 1st, 2026.

Welcoming the Minister, the President of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Michalis Mousiouttas, emphasised that the meeting is part of the ongoing dialogue between the Ministry and the social partners. He noted that the meeting’s objective was to promote the exchange of views and foster a better understanding of the respective positions of both parties on key issues affecting the business community, with particular emphasis on labour market and employment matters.

The Minister briefed the Board on a number of important policy issues currently under consideration, including the implementation of the EU Pay Transparency Directive, the continuing shortage of labour, and the reform of the pension system.

Board members welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with the Minister, raising questions and sharing their views on the issues discussed. The meeting concluded with a constructive and productive exchange of perspectives, reaffirming the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue between the Government and the business community.
